Subject: Decorative engraved portrait of "Willem, Graaf van Nassau, Veldmaarschalk der Vereenigde Nederlanden" (William of Nassau-Siegen, Count of Nassau in Hilchenbach, a Marshal of the Dutch army. He was the son of Johann VII). Within an oval border.
Condition: Excellent, given age. A small repaired chip in the the left margin, backed with acid-free archival tape. General age-related toning and light staining from handling. Please study scan carefully.

Artists and Engravers: Artist: A. Schouman after a painting by Miereveld. Engraver: Jacob Houbraken (Dordrecht 1698 - Amsterdam 1780). Houbraken was a Dutch artist, engraver and art collector. Jacob spend most his time designing and engraving portraits, such as the one offered here. His father (Arnold Houbraken 1660-1719) before him was also a celebrated artist/engraver.
