Description: This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Brehms Tierleben' (English title: Brehm's Life of Animals) is a reference book, first published in the 1864, which made its author, Alfred Edmund Brehm, known around the world. This plate is from a 1892 or 1900 edition.

Artists and Engravers: The author Alfred Edmund Brehm (1829-1884), was a German zoologist, natural history illustrator and writer, the son of Christian Ludwig Brehm. Through the book titled 'Brehms Tierleben', his name became a synonym for popular zoological literature. Engraved by X.J. v. K. Jahrmargt after R. Hartmann von G. Mutzel.
