Subject: Original engraving titled "Lot scheidt zich van Abraham" (Lot and Abraham separate). We see both men in the process of dividing the land. In the background a camp of war is set up, and fighting men surround it. (IV Boek, Bl. 78 - Book 4, p. 78)
Condition: Very good given age, left edge a bit uneven, margins minimally browned. Please study scan carefully.

Description: From: "Abraham de Aartsvader in XII boeken", (Rotterdam: Jan Daniel Beman, 1746) by Arnold Hoogvliet (Vlaardingen 1687-1763). Hoogvliet was an edifying poet of the 18th century. The book from which these prints are taken is seen as his magnum opus.

Artists and Engravers: Engraved and designed by Jan Punt (Amsterdam 1711-1780). Punt was an actor, artist and engraver. Reinier Vinkeles was one his pupils.
