Subject: Antique print, titled: 'Het huis Rojestein' - Sheet with a view of castle Royestein in Amerongen in the province of Utrecht, the Netherlands.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped, top margin cropped to the image edge, extended using contemporary paper backed with acid-free archival tape. Two brown stains (from sellotape) in the top left and right edges (slightly affecting image). General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Etching / engraving on hand laid paper.

Description: This print originates from a Dutch book of town and city views called: 'Het verheerlykt Nederland of Kabinet van hedendaagsche gezigten', Amsterdam, 1746 edition. The exact dates the plates were engraved vary.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Hendrik Spilman' after 'Jan de Beijer'. Hendrik Spilman (Dutch 1721-1784): engraver and designer of mostly town and city views. Jan de Beijer (1703 - 1780), also given as Jan de Beyer, was a Dutch draughtsman and painter known for this drawings of towns and buildings in the present-day countries of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. In total, he produced some 1500 drawings, over 600 of which were reproduced as engravings by other artists.
