Artists and Engravers: Engraved by J. Storer. Engraved after the original by H. Salt. Henry Salt (1780-1827) was an English artist, traveller, collector of antiques and Egyptologist. He trained as a portrait painter under Farington and Hoppner. In 1802 he was appointed secretary and draughtsman to George Annesley until he became the British consul-general in Cairo in 1815. James Sargant Storer (1771-1853) was an English draughtsman and engraver. He devoted himself to works on topography and ancient architecture.
