Description: This attractive original old antique print / plate originates from: 'Terre Sainte ou Le livre d'Or des familles.', by J.A. Luthereau, Bruxelles 1847. This work contains lithographs after the designs of the reknown David Roberts.

Artists and Engravers: The designer of the plates in this work is the reknown David Roberts (1796-1864) a Scottish painter. He is especially known for a great series of detailed prints of Egypt and the Near East that he produced during the 1840s from sketches he made during long tours of the region (1838-1840). This work, and his large oil paintings of similar subjects, made him a prominent Orientalist painter. He was elected as a Royal Academician in 1841. We do not know the exact lithographer of these plates.
