Description: This delicate original antique print originates from 'Costumes Historiques des XIIe, XIIIe, XIVe, et XVI siecles' by Camille Bonnard published in Paris by A. Levy Fils 1860. In 1827 Camille Bonnard began this monumental gallery of 13th to 15th century European costumes, published in 75 parts over the next two years, with beautiful hand-colored plates by Paul Mercuri. This work was later continued by Duplessis (16th to 18th century). The images in these works have often served as examples after which theater and movie costumes were modelled.

Artists and Engravers: Camille Bonnard, author. Paul Mercuri, artist and engraver.
