Subject: Proverb / ethics emblem : 'Sufficit Una. XLIV.' (One suffices.) This plate #44 shows someone grafting a tree. The meaning of this emblem is that enough is enough, excess is harmfull. Or as the proverb goes; 'Enough is as good as a feast'.
Condition: Good. Occasional light staining. General age related toning and occasional light soiling as visible on the scan. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Copperplate engraving on a verge type hand laid paper. Watermarks not visible on every sheet. Emblem with surrounding text front and rear.
