Subject: Untitled original print. A sleeping naked angel on a bed. A woman holding an oil lamp enters from the left. This scene is reminiscent of the tale of Psyche and Cupid, where Psyche tries to kill Cupid, who was made out to be a monster by her sisters.
Condition: Excellent given age. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully

Artists and Engravers: Signed Henri le Riche. Henri Le Riche (Grenoble 1868- 1944) was a French painter, sculptor, designer and illustrator. He studied under William Bouguereau and Tony Robert-Fleury. He illustrated the book Thi-Ba by Jean d'Esme. He won the Prix de Rome in 1888, exposed at the Salon of French artists and was named a member of the Academie des Beaux-Arts in 1935. Hirne was his pseudonym on certain sculptures.
