This second edition, like the first, contains extracts from the works of Dellon, Marsollier, and Dupin. Until the publication of Llorente's work on the subject, the general public of the late 18th and early 19th century drew its knowledge on the subject from this work.

2 volumes in uniform contemporary full calf with five raised bands and gilt decoration to the spine, gilt titling to a morocco spine title ticket. Single gilt rule to the board edges, marbled endpapers.
Cover condition: Good: spine ends a little worn, the spine cracked from use and rubbed on the hinges. Corners and board edges a little rubbed. Please study image carefully.
Inside condition: Very good: some intermittent foxing and other age-realted toning. A very faint dampstain to the upper corner of volume two (not affecting text), title and frontis of volume 1 with a dampstain in the lower corner (affecting plate).
