Subject: Antique print, titled: 'The broad and narrow way.' - This moralising print depicts the choice between the Narrow Way, the path of virtue and righteousness (past prayer, Sunday school and church) versus the Broad Way, the path of worldliness (with taverns, theaters, gambling, fighting and drinking) that inevitably leads to damnation. The gate to the Broad Way has statues of Bacchus and Venus beside it, while the Narrow Way is just a very small gate. In front of that gate a preacher points at two Bible passages: John 3:3 for the Narrow Way and John 3:36 for the Broad Way. Bible passages are indicated in numerous places on the print.
