Subject: Proverb / ethics emblem : 'Quod Grave, Delectat. XXXVII.' (When sick, it pleases.) This plate #37 shows a magnetic stone attracting a metal key. The meaning of this emblem is that virtue is being nourished only when it is using its strength. On the rear of this sheet is another plate #36: candles lighting each other.
Condition: Fine; General age related toning; Occasional light staining; Image does not show entire page.
Medium: Copperplate engraving on a verge type hand laid paper. Watermarks not visible on every sheet. Emblem with surrounding text front and rear.
