Artists and Engravers: Made by an anonymous engraver after 'E.J.B. Schonk'. Author: Everhard Jan Benjamin Schonck (1745-1821) was a Dutch author, inspired by C.F. Gellert and Salomon Gessner (whose works he also translated). He was rector of the Latin school of Gorinchem from 1769 to 1781. He transferred to Nijmegen in the latter year, and became emeritus in 1816.
