Subject: Plate 20: 'Seltsamer Mordfall im Jahr 1644' (A rare case of murder in 1644). It shows: a standing ruler (Raja of Agra, Hindustan / India), in front of whom a dead man lies on the ground, and another is being stabbed with a kris. Several armed guards are in attendance.
Condition: Very good, given age. Small holes in the text where letters were cut out, margins a little dampstained. General age-related toning and light staining, irregular page edge from binding, please study scan carefully.
Medium: Scarce original etching / engraving on a verge type hand laid paper. Letterpress text on front and rear of the sheet.
