Subject: Antique print, titled: 'Kerststal.' - (Nativity scene) The shepherds arrive at the barn where Christ was just born. Joseph and Mary are beside the manger in which the Infant lies.
Condition: Very good, given age. Far left of the margin a little discoloured. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Etching on wove paper.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Jan van Riel' after own design. Jan van Riel (Amsterdam 1907 - Tilburg 1988) was a Dutch graphic artist and painter. He depicted local landscapes, circus scenes, landscapes and religious scenes. He was trained by Isidore Opsomer and Jozef Peeters in Antwerp, and later by Henri Sicking and Jan van Delft at the Academie voor Beeldende Kunst in Tilburg.
