Subject: Antique print, titled: ''Red Sea - Sketch of Perim Island.'' - A detailed map of Perim island near Yemen. The maps shows depth soundings, shoals, other islands and a part of the Arabian coast. With a compass rose and geographical details inland on the island.
Condition: Good, given age. The margin edges a little stained. A few brown stains in the image area and some scattered small spots. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Engraving on wove paper.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J. & C. Walker' after 'Lieutenant H. Lamb'. John, Alexander and Charles Walker, known collectively as J & C Walker (active 1820-95), were engravers, draughtsmen and publishers working through the 19th century. The firm is best known for its work on the maps issued by the Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge. However, they also engraved a large number of maps for the British Admiralty , as well as issuing several important maps of India and multiple issues of the Royal Atlas.
