Artists and Engravers: Made by 'P. L. Surugue' after 'D. Teniers'. Pierre Louis de Surugue (1710-1772) was a French engraver. David Teniers the Younger (1610-1690) was a Flemish artist, born in Antwerp. He was the son of David Teniers the Elder, while his son and grandson also became painters. He was a wildly prolific painter, creating over 900 works. During his life he started the Antwerp Royal Academy of Fine Arts, after having presided over the Antwerp guild of painters.
