Subject: Antique print, titled: 'Das Stufenalter des Menschen' - ('The steps of the ages'). This plate shows an allegorical pyramid from birth to 100 years. Each step shows another stage in a man's life. A vignette in the center bottom shows Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, with Eve taking the apple from the Tree of Knowledge and handing it to Adam. Animals are ambling around.
Condition: Good, given age. Margins cropped close to the image edge. Dampstained in the lower margin and edge of the image. Soiling in the top and left edge. Overall browning. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully.
Medium: Chromolithograph on wove paper.

Artists and Engravers: Made by 'Fridolin Leiber' after own design. Fridolin Leiber (1853-1912) was a German painter, draughtsman and lithographer. In 1881 he got associated with E.G. May Sohne as a designer and lithographer.
