Description: Separately published etching, from the Luzern period (1910-1919).

Artists and Engravers: Etched by Oskar Paul Matthes (Kaliningrad 1872 - Bergholz 1956), a German-born autodidact artist. He started his career in Cologne around 1887-1901. He spent numerous years in the Netherlands (Zaandam, Edam and Leiden) before moving to Luzern in 1910. He later repatriated to Potsdam (Germany) and Bergholz-Rehbrucke (where he would die in 1956). He was a painter, draughtsman, etcher and lithographer of mainly city and village views.
